There are a few companies that will offer spraying a chemical that will “ absorb “ into the walls and other materials “ killing the mold “ when performing mold removal. Although this sounds promising , there are again a few issues . 

One is the fact that no one can be 100 % certain if the chemical actually touched the mold inside the wall or materials effected by mold  . As I mentioned in the first paragraph, mold has roots that will grow through the walls and materials and unless the materials are removed . Costs for this service ranges from $ 800.00 to $ 2500.00. 

IICRC S502 Guidelines – Ok here is where all states in the USA and most certified mold testers approve of how mold removal companies should remove mold .  The guidelines are extensive but have been proven to be the best solution. For a very short explanation of the IICRC S502 Guidelines , the guidelines include containment, negative air equipment , protective equipment for the technicians and many strict rules to protect the property from cross containment .
